• Welcome to Radiology Education Seminars (RES)

RES offers limited x-ray courses to prepare you to take and successfully pass the ARRT Limited Scope Radiography exam. Tennessee’s oldest, largest, and most successful school for limited radiography (x-ray) classes, established in 1986.

We are here to provide a quality educational program for students who are employed in a physician’s office and are seeking a Limited X-Ray License. RES provides live Zoom classes to Tennessee.

    Our Philosophy

We believe that anyone working in the field of radiology should understand all the benefits and risks related to this field. Any person who is administering ionizing radiation to living tissues should be responsible and knowledgeable enough to know the risks associated with any dose of radiation.

    Our Goal

To provide you with all of the knowledge that you need to create great diagnostic images for your physicians, while providing exceptional patient care and keeping the radiation doses to your patients As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). We strive to give you the necessary cognitive skills so that you can go forward with your studies and pass the ARRT Limited Scope of Radiography Examination for State Licensure. We teach directly from the ARRT Limited Scope Exam Specifications to ensure that you are learning all necessary materials to pass that Exam.

RES is designed for residents in the State of Tennessee who may already be in the medical field but would like to further their skills to include limited x-ray imaging in their offices. Our classes take place on the weekends and are scheduled from 8am – 4pm Central Time.

    Core: Radiography Basics

This course covers the radiography basics of producing x-ray images. This is a required course for a limited x-ray license in TN.

Body Categories: Chest, Extremities, Skull/Sinus, Spine

These courses cover the anatomy, positioning, and pathologies that affect the image of the body categories.

Here is what is expected from you as a student:
    1. Attend all Zoom Class Days in their entirety and participate fully in class activities. Hours missed will need to be made up and may keep you from receiving a certificate in the current class.
    2. Complete all homework assignments prior to the next scheduled class day.
    3. Pass the required Exit Exam with a 75% and the required Review Exams with a 90% each.

After attending all classes and meeting all requirements you must:
    1. Send in the Exam Application to LST to start the testing process.
    2. Continue to study up until your test date by utilizing all the materials presented to you in class and in the Moodle teaching platform to ensure the best possible outcome.
    3. Apply for Licensure after passing the ARRT Limited Scope Examination for the State of Tennessee.

    Testing Preparation

All the materials presented in the Moodle platform will be available for review while studying for the ARRT Exam. Students will also be automatically enrolled into a PREP course which will include all pertinent information from the courses presented in a more condensed format.

We include test-taking tips and techniques to help with anxiety and stress reduction. We know that test-taking anxiety is a real thing and can hinder students from being able to relax and focus enough to pass important examinations. We are here to help in any way that we can.

    Our Instructors

All of our instructors are Registered Technologists (R.T.) registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), having studied under either a two-year or a four-year educational/clinical program, or are qualified experts in their field. Some have associate degrees; some have bachelor’s degrees. Some of the instructors have been involved in teaching in various college or hospital-based programs. All have had at least ten years of experience in the field of Radiology.
